There are no fees required for participation in the GIS Population Science Workshops. However, participants are encouraged to seek funds from their own institutions and advisors to cover transportation, lodging, and meals. Applicants may request consideration for admission without funding or consideration for scholarship support.
Limited funds are available for scholarship support to a maximum of $500 per person. As a general rule, these funds are reserved for qualified US and US-based graduate students and early-career population scientists and are not used to support participants from the private sector or from government agencies. Decisions on scholarship support take into consideration the academic qualifications of candidates (as revealed by responses to questions on the application forms) and their alternative sources of funding.
