• getting your data ready for spatial regression analysis (data input, spatial weights, exploratory data analysis)

Tuesday August 7 � Specifying Spatial Models:

  Lecture:

• spatial heterogeneity
• models for spatial dependence

  Lab:

• spatial heterogeneity

Wednesday August 8 � Specification Testing:

  Lecture:

• tests against various forms of spatial autocorrelation in regression models

  Lab:

• testing for spatial dependence in SpaceStat

Thursday August 9 � Estimation:

  Lecture:

• maximum likelihood estimation of spatial models
• instrumental variables/general method of moments estimation of spatial models

  Lab:

• estimating spatial models in SpaceStat

Friday August 10 � Advanced Topics:

  Lecture:

• space-time dependence
• spatial probit models

  Lab:

• putting it all together
• project presentations
