Travel and Accommodations

Participants will be eligible for accommodations in campus housing at significantly lower rates than in commercial accommodations. Full information on registration for housing will be provided upon notification of acceptance into the workshop

University Park Airport is served by the following airlines:

The nearest Amtrak station is in either Tyrone, PA or Lewistown, PA both about 30 miles from State College.

Greyhound usually requires a change of bus near Harrisburg if travelling from the East or Pittsburgh if travelling from the West.

State College is a 3-4 hour drive from Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, Baltimore and Buffalo and a 4-5 hour drive from NYC.

Accommodations

For your convenience, we have reserved a block of rooms in Brill Hall, located within the Eastview Terrace community (house plan, floor plan, photos). Brill Hall includes classrooms, study rooms and a terrace where we will hold some evening meetings and events. The building also has a laundry room. The rooms themselves have twin beds with linens, a closet, a desk, a set of drawers, a dresser, a microwave and a refrigerator. A private bathroom with shower is also provided. There is a residential computing building nearby for Internet access.

The two-week rate (14 days, 13 nights) is approximately $650 ($50/night) for a single room (see floor plan links above) which includes breakfast vouchers. Lunch and dinner costs are not included.
