Accommodations

Opened in Fall 2002, Manzanita Village provides residence-hall-style housing to UCSB students and visitors, next to the beach. Each building has a laundry/vending room, a lounge with view terrace, and a study ro om. Some buildings are equipped with full kitchens. The rooms themselves have extra-long twin beds with linens provided, a closet, a desk, a built-in bookshelf, and a dresser. Internet access will be available at no extra charge. Hall bathrooms are shared among 4 rooms. Review the Map of Manzanita Village and Carrillo Dining Commons.
Register for preferred campus accommodations at Manzanita Village online at http://www.housing.ucsb.edu/conferences/web_reg/csiss-packages-2010.htm. You will need to complete your registration by 18 June.

For those participants who have registered to stay in Manzanita Village, there is available wireless access under a different name. According to the Resnet FAQ page located at http://www.housing.ucsb.edu/resnet/resnet-faq.htm. What About Wireless? ResNet has a wireless network available for use in all residence halls and apartments. We have installed wireless access points throughout every Residence Hall and apartment complex. Any 802.11a/b/g-compatible wireless network card will work on this network. The ResNet wireless network provides two service ID names: "ResNet-Secure" - Requires WPA2, which authenticates using your ResNet login and password encrypts all traffic. A WPA2 auto-configuration utility is available for Windows XP, Vista & Mac OSX at
https://info.resnet.ucsb.edu/wireless.php.
"ResNet-Open" - Does not require authentication and will not encrypt any wireless traffic. This is not recommended for use, as any sensitive data (account numbers, passwords, etc.) sent on this connection will not be secured. There is also a wireless service located in both the Carrillo and De La Guerra Dining Commons, as well as the De Anza Resource Center in Manzanita Village.
