Travel Arrangements
Participants should make their own travel arrangements for arrival on Sunday 9 October and departure on the afternoon of 11 October. Santa Barbara airport (SBA) is served by United, American, Delta, America West, and Horizon airlines.
Taxi service to the Upham Hotel will be approximately $35. The cheaper alternative is the "SuperRide" (large white van with big blue lettering) - courtesy phone in the baggage claim area. It's a bit less expensive to schedule a round-trip with them.
If you prefer to fly into Los Angeles International (LAX) airport, allow for a 2.0- to 2.5-hour drive to Santa Barbara. As an alternative to renting a car, the Santa Barbara Airbus can take you from LAX to downtown Santa Barbara. They offer discounted rates for pre-paid round-trips.
